Alan's Blog

At last rain so welcome, but after all the sun over the best part of April it feels cold, lit the fire last nigh and have left heating on today.

I always welcome the local paper on a Thursday it keeps me up-todate in a fashion with what’s going on in the town. I also enjoy the gardening section, more so this week as the writer Diarmuid Gavin a well-known garden designer and broadcaster extolled the AEONIUMS, ECHIUM PINNANAAND, we have blue and pink, MELIANTHUS MAJOR.  Three plants which of course we grow here at CH. our Aeonium was a gift of one plant from a dear friend in Cornwall from her garden, it rather likes CH as it just multiplies almost on a daily basis and as for the Echium’s well we have pink and blue they are like weeds. Now I know I am boasting, but they really are. So easy to grow but add so much to the garden.

So tomorrow is May Day here in Glastonbury usually a time of wild celebration but not this year, however the garden must go on so plants buy plants to plant and plants to enjoy.
