Alan's Blog

The heatwave continues and we water the garden each day, dried the bill but what else can one do.

My late partner and creator of the garden told me many years ago that the weather at this time of the year was always hot and sunny because it was exam time at Cambridge and they had to dress to take the exams which was not fun

We are busy planting up the garden ready to open on July 12th. Alas No teas or Plant stall and entrance by donation.

One of the plants to survive the winter has been the Datura’s so often confused with the Brugmansia suaveolenswhich have similar looking flowers. The temple is almost finished and we have decided to plant Medicinal Herbs in its precincts.

The Peony’s are now in full flower and remind me so much of the Antiques Fair which was always held at this time of the year at the Grosvenor Hotel in Park Lane, every stand seemed to have great displays of Peony’s and the scent, ah happy days.
