I for one am glad and happy to see back of 2020, yet there have been some good days and those were worth having.
The day broke with pale blue skies, sun and a heavy frost on the garden. The lawn like a white frosting, well that’s what it was, the pink of the Begina’s giving a welcome splash of colour, Tulip’s showing good growth and snowdrops popping up all over the beds. Spring is on her way. I hope we will be able to open the garden for friends and charity in 2021 we will plan to do so.
The catalogues are flooding through the letter box, tempting me and George to new ideas. I rather like the idea of some more climbing roses’ Gertrude Jekyll from David Austin was one I have just the wall SE facing to put it on. Also, with the loss of Laura who has gone on to grander things we need to rethink jobs in the garden, Paul is starting to master the grass cutting and care of the lawn, but must watch George to make sure he does not over do it.
Hey Ho that’s life and in our garden it’s all starting to happen again.
